Counselling

You are here:

Summary

Your interaction with the court system can be improved by taking advantage of the general counselling services provided by the Neighbourhood Justice Centre.

The health and well-being services offered by the Neighbourhood Justice Centre in association with North Yarra Community Health address the causes and effects of ill health in the community. The services include:

  • Goal-focussed counselling sessions
  • Family support services
  • Family violence counselling and support
  • Group sessions
  • Refugee support projects

A casework counsellor who works between the Neighbourhood Justice Centre and North Yarra Community Health can start your support before you have even appeared in court.

Ongoing support before, during and after your experience with the centre will relieve stress, and inform you about your rights.

All residents of the City of Yarra have access to these services, as well as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders with a strong connection to the area, and people who are homeless.

The services are free, confidential and tailored to your needs. Support can be organised quickly and easily and may be ongoing.

To make an appointment telephone 9948 8777 or visit the information desk at the Centre, 241 Wellington St Collingwood Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
