Disability Employment Service
Are you, or someone you know, living with a disability and looking for work? If so, we know it can be tough for people living with disability to find and hold onto meaningful employment, that is why we are here to help.
Anyone living in Yarra who has a permanent medical condition, mental illness, injury, or dsiability is invited to talk to our Disability Employment Service worker.
How we help
We'll help you to employment through
- Specialised training
- Education programs - for example, learn how to use a computer
- English language classes
- Work opportunities such as voluntary work
- Community building links across all ages and abilities.
Sometimes people need a little more help to get onto the employment pathway, which is why we also help with:
- Housing support
- Counselling
- Addicition recovery support
This support also includes 13 weeks of support once a job starts to make sure things are going well.
The services is provided by Uniting Services who has a base at the NJC.
