Urban Campfire is now lighting up the walls at the Neighbourhood Justice Centre! We were so proud to launch our community-led art exhibition in partnership with Belgium Avenue Neighbourhood House (BANH). The exhibition has transformed the public spaces at the NJC with warmth, colour, and creativity. And we’re so grateful that so many of community members could come along to our launch

Curated by Dr Paula Mahoney, Urban Campfire brings together work from local artists and community groups, including artists from Blak Pearl, Collingwood Neighbourhood House, North Carlton Railway Neighbourhood House Art Program, Yarra Seniors’ Art Group, Belgium Avenue Neighbourhood House, Willowview Centre, and Wurun Senior Campus.

This exhibition brings together bold, moving work from our local artists, and bringing everyone together yesterday was a great chance to hear directly from those involved in the exhibition’s creation. This Urban Campfire exhibition also features a strong presence from our Vietnamese community, marking 50 years of Vietnamese migration in Yarra

We also want to gratefully acknowledge the support of GHD and the Reichstein Foundation, whose contributions helped bring this project to life.

Come visit the NJC anytime to see the exhibition!
